Welcome to Ravine Records
Ravine Records, formerly known as Bridge Street Records, is an independent music label and recording studio founded by musician, singer-songwriter, composer and producer, Darrin James. James was born in Kentucky, raised in Michigan, and he spent a decade in New York City, performing regularly as a part of Brooklyn's indie music scene of the early 2000's. In 2010, James returned to Michigan and set up a recording studio in Ann Arbor. James holds regular recording sessions at the studio for both the Darrin James Band as well as many other local Detroit and Ann Arbor based musicians, in addition to a steady stream of talent from New York coming to collaborate on recording projects. In 2014 Ravine Records released Darrin James's single "Bombs Away" and the Balkan funk fusion project, Ornamatik, on which Darrin James also played guitar. In 2016 Darrin James Band released "Strange Storm," James' third full length album, which featured a stacked line up of contributing musicians from New York and Michigan, including Detroit's own "Queen of the Blues," Thornetta Davis. With Ravine Records, Darrin James is creating an environment and a home for a lot of exciting new musicial directions and collaborations, jam sessions and compositions. Stay tuned for future releases on Ravine Records!
